MISSION STATEMENT
The Radiography Program is a comprehensive 22 month course of
study culminating in a Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
It provides the student with a high quality, customer
service oriented competency based didactic and clinical education.
The education provided prepares the students to enter the
job market at an entry-level position in diagnostic radiography,
transfer to an advanced modality program or transfer to a selected
4 year institution offering a Bachelor’s Degree.
This program will also instill life long learning values
and assist students in achieving their professional and personal
goals.
PROGRAM
GOALS
The Jameson Health System School of
Radiography serves its communities of interest and its students
through meeting and maintaining the following goals.

POLICY
The Jameson Health System School of
Radiography considers all applicants to the school regardless of
race, creed, national origin, gender, age religion, marital status
or handicap.
REQUIREMENTS
FOR ADMISSION
1.
High School Graduate Or GED, minimum GPA of 2.0 out
of a possible 4.0
2. Score of 55 or higher on HOBET test
3.
High School
courses- minimum final grade of “C”
a.
Math- 2
units beginning with Algebra I
b.
One year of
Biology with a lab
c.
c. One year of
chemistry with a lab
4.
College
courses- minimum of 15 Credits- minimum grade of “C” in all
courses.

course from the “100” level or higher

Medical Imaging Department, North Campus

Advanced
Placement / Transfer Policy Requirements
To
recognize previously completed educational experiences in another
accredited program qualified individuals from
another institution who for reason had to drop out or transfer to
another school to complete their education in Radiography must:
·
Have been enrolled in an accredited program
(certificate, associate or baccalaureate).
·
Submit a letter to the Director, School
of
Radiography
explaining the reason for transfer.
·
Request a letter of reference from the Director or
Dean of the former radiography program.
·
Complete the application process.
·
Submit official transcripts, test scores and medical
health reports.
·
Attain a grade of “C” cumulative average for
courses completed in the former radiography program as recorded on
the student’s official transcript.
·
Submit a non-refundable registration fee of $100.00
upon written notification of acceptance.
·
Transfer students must also meet the CURRENT
admission criteria as well as adhere to all deadlines.
·
Demonstrate satisfactory achievement of the clinical
behaviors for the courses under consideration, as evidenced by
evaluation of clinical competencies by appropriate faculty during
clinical experience.
Complete, as a minimum, the final semester (6
months) in THIS school of radiography.

Tuition- $9,000 -
may be paid by semester or yearly

Students are required to show proof of health insurance
coverage- Jameson Health System does not provide this

Students accepted into the program must remit a $250
non-refundable tuition deposit within 30 days of receipt of
acceptance letter

Withdrawal
Refund Policy
Any Student may voluntarily withdrawal from
the program.
Procedure:
·
Submit a letter of resignation to the Program
Director.
·
Students are responsible for any outstanding
financial obligations.
·
If tuition has been paid in full for the semester, a
partial refund will be granted to those who officially withdraw.
·
Refunds will be granted based upon percentage of
tuition charged.

Academic
Policies
Students
are required to maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout
the program.
Minimun academic progress is evidenced by a final grade of
78% in each course of instruction.
Failure to meet this minimum standard results in dismissal
from the program. Complete
academic policies will be available on request.
Graduation
Requirements
A student must complete the following requirements to
successfully meet the completion of the program, receive their
certificate and be eligible to take the registry test.
The requirements include but are not limited to the
following.
1.
Maintain an
academic average for each class of 78%.
2.
Maintain a
clinical average of 78%.
3.
Demonstrate
competency in 6 mandatory patient care competencies, as listed in
the ARRT clinical competency requirements.
4.
Demonstrate
competency in all 36 mandatory radiological procedures, as listed
in the ARRT clinical competency requirements.
At least 28 of the 36 mandatory radiological procedures
must be demonstrated on patients and not simulated.
5.
Demonstrate
competency in at least 23 of the 30 elective radiological
procedures listed in the ARRT clinical competency requirements.
(Although the ARRT only requires 15 of the 30 elective
radiological procedures, we at Jameson trying to uphold higher
standards do require 23 to graduate from our program.)
6.
Student must
meet all financial obligations to the
School
of
Radiography
and the sponsoring
institution.
7.
Complete all
required hours for the courses.
8.
Meet with
all applicable standards as stated in their student handbook.
Available
Student Services
1.
Resource
Center-
Located on the ground
floor in the classroom building.
It contains 8 fully functional computers with web access,
numerous books devoted to diagnostic imaging (no covers are older
than 5 years), professional journals and magazines from the past
five years and a “Quiet” area for study and research
2.
Radiography
students also have access to the Jameson Health
System - School of Nursing Library located in the North Campus
3.
Radiography
Students also have access to the Jameson Health system Employee
Assistance Program (EAP)
4.
Tutoring-
students needing tutoring may make an appointment with any faculty
member for tutoring assistance
