Accreditation

The Jameson Health System Educational Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology is an approved one-year program. The school is accredited by The Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Requirements for Admission

  1. High school graduate or equivalent
  2. Post-secondary education in: Chemistry with a lab, algebra, general physics,        2 courses in human anatomy and physiology with a lab, a humanities course, medical terminology, social science course, and oral and written communications course.  All course must have earned within tens years of application.
  3. Four (4) professional letters of reference
  4. Official High School transcripts and any post-secondary education transcripts.
  5. Applicants are required to complete a minimum of 4 hours of observation at the Jameson Health System Nuclear Medicine Department.
  6. Score of 55 or higher on the HOBET test.
  7. Personal interview
  8. Pre-admission physical examination.

Deadline for applications and all related documents is January 31.

Each July 2 students are admitted to the program.

Student Schedule
Student’s attendance will not exceed 40 hours per week

In addition to vacation time, six holidays are recognized by the hospital and will be granted to the student:

New Year’s Day
Memorial Day           
July 4th          
Labor Day           
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

All students will be scheduled for clinical at Jameson North Campus with a rotation through The Center for Cardiac Health, PET/CT, and one of our Radiopharmacies.

Program Cost

      1.      Tuition is $4,500.00 per year (subject to change)
2.    Books are approximately $350.00
3.  Students are required to show proof of health insurance coverage. Jameson Health System does not provide this.

Upon graduation from the program, students will be eligible to take the ARRT (N) examination and also the NMTCB examination boards.

Financial Aid

  1. No Title IV funding is available
  2. Some sources such as Career Link, VA and TRA are available to qualified students

Program Goals

The Jameson Health System Nuclear Medicine Technology Training Program serves its communities of interest and its students through meeting and maintaining the following goals.

1.       To provide a quality education in the advanced level radiographic modalities of Nuclear Medicine based on the educational standards and essentials as set forth by the JRCNMT.

2.       To produce a graduate with the highest possible standards of clinical competence, dedication to patient care and safety, and obvious pride and professionalism in their chosen profession.
