Aid from Social
Security, Veteran's Administration, Office of Vocational
Rehabilitation, and the Job Training Partnership Act Program
may be available for students who meet program
criteria. Applicants should contact those agencies
directly regarding eligibility requirements.
Students are
advised to check with clubs and organizations within their
community regarding possible sources of financial
assistance. It is the responsibility of the student to
know and comply with deadline dates for each financial
source.
FEDERAL
INCOME TAX CREDITS
The HOPE
Scholarship, a
tax credit worth up to $1,500 per student, may be available to
first and second year students enrolled at least half time.
The LIFETIME
LEARNING CREDIT is a tax credit equal to 20% of
a family’s tuition expense, up to $5,000 for
students that meet the qualifying criteria, for post-secondary education and training,
including subsequent undergraduate years, graduate and
professional schools, and even less than half time study.
