All applicants receive consideration
for financial aid regardless of sex, marital status, age,
race, color, national origin, religion, disability, or
sexual orientation.
Financial aid must be applied for annually and is awarded
on the basis of need and on the condition that the student
has been accepted for admission to the School.
FINANCING THE COSTS OF
EDUCATION IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STUDENT AND THE
FAMILY. They are expected to contribute according to
their means, taking into account their income, assets,
number of dependents, and other relevant information.
Students are expected to contribute toward the cost of
their education through summer employment earnings,
savings, assets, and resources, including appropriate
borrowing against future earnings.
Students attending Jameson
Memorial Hospital School of Nursing are strongly
encouraged to apply for PHEAA State Grants and the Federal
PELL Grant. There is one common application, the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA), and it must
be completed on an annual basis (after January 1).
Students should submit the FASFA on or before May 1 for PA
State Grant consideration. First time students should
apply on or before August 1.
Any student requesting financial
aid must apply for Federal PELL Grant funding in order to
be considered for other types of aid. Applications for
scholarships may be obtained from high school counselors,
financial aid offices, and public libraries. If a student
is applying for a Federal Family Educational Loan (FFEL)
student loan, an annual Master Promissory Note must be
completed and submitted to the loan guarantee agency.
Certain students may qualify for
aid from Social Security, Veteran's Administration, Office
of Vocational Rehabilitation, and WIA Statewide Eligible
Training Program. Applicants should direct inquiries
directly to these organizations.
All students receiving Title IV
Funds (State and Federal Grants and Loans) must meet and
maintain the educational standards of the School.
Satisfactory academic progress
must be maintained (24 credit hours per academic year)
for continued consideration for Pennsylvania State Grant
financial assistance. Academic progress for the
Pennsylvania State Grant aid will be tested at the beginning
of the fall semester annually or upon admission (mid-year for
transfer students). Satisfactory
progress=successful completion of credits/clock hours to
commensurate with enrollment status during semesters
receiving State Grant aid. The Academic Progress
Test will use the last academic year that any State
Grant aid was received. The student
must have successfully completed 24 semester credits (or
900 clock hours) for each 1.00 of State Grant aid,12
credit hours (or 450 clock hours) for each .50 of State
Grant Aid, or 6 credit hours (225 clock hours) for each
.25 of State Grant Aid.

Student Financial

It is the responsibility of the
student to complete the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FASFA) ( for State and Federal grant
consideration). If a student is applying for a
student loan, an annual Master Promissory Note must be
completed by the student and submitted to the loan
guarantee agency.
If grant and loan information
has not been received by the Student Accounts/Affairs
Coordinator and an eligibility allowance cannot be
determined, the student will be responsible for payment
of no less than 25% of the total balance due for the
semester and the student is required to complete and
submit a "Plan for
payment" form with payment dates and proportionate
monthly payment amounts. The final payment must be
paid two (2) weeks prior to the end of the semester. Late
payments (past the date listed on the "Plan for
Payment") may be assessed a $25.00 fee.
All student accounts are due
and payable to Jameson Memorial Hospital on or
before the due date listed on the Student Billing mailed
to the student's home each semester. Amounts awarded for
State Grant, Federal Grant, miscellaneous grants and/or
scholarships and Federal Family Educational Loans
(FFELs) can be deferred for eligible students. All
financial obligations must be paid two (2) weeks prior to
the end of the semester.
If financial obligations are not
met, the School reserves
the right to refuse admittance to class/clinical and to withhold
academic transcripts.
Tuition and fees for the current
year are available on a separate sheet. All costs are
subject to change as deemed necessary by the School of
Nursing.
Refunds

liability insurance are not
refundable for any reason.

Semester 2 - 19 credits
The Title IV refund policy is applicable to all students
withdrawing before completion of 60% of the semester.
The School's Refund Policy is the same as the Title IV
Refund Policy.
Refunds of tuition are determined
by the last day the student attended class. Students, both full-time and part-time, who
meet this condition may be entitled to receive a refund in
accordance with the following refund policy.
If a student withdraws, the
student may be eligible for a refund of a portion of the
tuition and fees for that semester. The liability
insurance is non-refundable. If the student
received financial assistance from outside of the family,
then a portion of the refund may be returned to the loan,
grant, or scholarship from which that assistance was
received.

"Return of Title IV Aid" formula, is applicable to
any student receiving federal aid who withdraws on or
before the 60 percent point-in-time in the semester
(between the 1st and 11th week). If this occurs, the
student may be eligible to receive a refund.
Percentage of TITLE
IV aid is based on the withdrawal date (determined by the
date the student last attended class and/or clinical
) and determined by:
Number of days completed divided by the number of days in
the period equals the
percentage of the
program that
the student completed..
If a student
withdraws without notice, prior to completion of 60% of
the term, 50% of
Title IV Aid will be retained by the school.
Students withdrawing from class are responsible for any
balance due after the required return of Title IV Aid.
Refund distribution will occur in the following order:
1. Unsubsidized Federal Stafford
Loan
2.
Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan
3.

there is an unpaid balance due, the School will invoice
the student. The School will send three (3)
notices, one (1) per month, informing the student that if the
bill remains unpaid, it will be sent to a collection
agency. If the balance due continues to be unpaid
and the Student Accounts/Affairs Coordinator has not been
contacted to make arrangements for payment, the balance
due will be turned over for collection by the Hospital's
Collection Agent.
The School reserves the right to distribute the name,
address, and enrollment information of the former student
to the collection agency.
Voter Registration
According to the Motor Voter Act, schools are
required to make a good faith effort to distribute a voter
registration form to each enrolled student who is
physically in attendance at Jameson Memorial Hospital
School of Nursing.

other chief executive is up for election or when federal
officers have elections.

requirement that an educational program on the U.S.
Constitution be held annually on September 17th.
