Educational/Clinical
The educational facilities are located within the School
of Nursing. Pleasant classrooms are available with
adequate lighting and ventilation. Various types of
audiovisual equipment are readily available. Conference
rooms are provided for small group meetings.
Administrative offices are located in the Educational
Building; Faculty offices are located in the May Emma Hoyt
Building. School facilities are accessible beginning at
6:15 a.m. Monday - Friday. Hours vary
depending on activities being held at the School. A
security system limits visitor accessibility. A receptionist is on duty Monday
through Friday for varying hours. School facilities are closed on
weekends and holidays.
Students have a lounge as well as
access to a sleeping room during inclement weather.
Jameson Memorial Hospital School
of Nursing provides clinical experiences in the following
areas: medical-surgical, maternity, pediatrics, critical
care, ambulatory care, surgery and psychiatry. Additional community facilities are used to
enrich the program. The majority of clinical experiences are within
Lawrence County. Transportation to and from all clinical
experiences is the responsibility of the student.
The Hospital and educational
facilities are accessible to disabled persons. If a
student requires special facilities and services, this is
considered on an individual basis.
Library
The Health System Library is located on the first
floor of the School of Nursing. It provides
professional and non-professional periodicals, reference
books, and an extensive educational video collection for
student use.
The Library is open 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday -
Friday. A coin-operated copier is available for
student use. Students may use the facilities of the
New Castle Public Library for reference work. Special arrangements can
be made for use of the library after posted hours.
Computer
Laboratory
The Computer Laboratory is located on the second floor of
the School of Nursing. Computers are available
for student use as well as computers to view
interactive programs. The lab is open 8:00 a.m. - 4:30
p.m., Monday - Friday. Special arrangements can be made
with the receptionist for use of the computer lab after
posted hours.
